Organic Sushi Rice Brown – Short Grain Japanese Style Rice

Clearspring’s Organic Sushi Rice is ideal for creating delicious, perfectly cooked rice that can be used in Japan’s most celebrated dish. The short grain Selenio rice has characteristics very similar to the Japonica rice used to make sushi in Japan. It is grown in the Piemonte region of northwest Italy, an area renowned for the cultivation of risotto rice.

After ripening, a rice miller located in the nearby town of Trino polishes the rice to perfection. In order to produce brown rice only the outer most layer of a grain of rice is removed. The layers underneath the husk are then removed in order to make our finished white rice.
