This berry smoothie is made with mixed frozen berries, fresh strawberries, almond milk and Vanilla Greek yogurt. The yogurt adds the perfect amount of creaminess to this sweet smoothie and really makes the berry flavour shine.

You can even make these ahead! Either prep the fruit and freeze in bags until ready to blend, or freeze blended smoothies for up to 1 month.

Ingredients Needed to make Easy mixed berry smoothie recipe

  • Frozen Strawberries, Frozen Raspberries & Frozen Blueberries: This trio of berries makes the best mixed berry smoothie! If you only have two out of these three types of berries on hand, that will work, too. Using frozen berries thickens the smoothie. If you head to the frozen fruit section at your local grocery store, you’ll probably find mixed berries. These work perfectly for this smoothie!
  • Fresh strawberries : brings freshness and added flavour.
  • Almond Milk:  You’ll need some liquid to make the smoothie blend up smoothly. I usually use unsweetened almond milk. Feel free to use another non-dairy milk, such as oat milk, or dairy milk, whatever you have!
  • Vanilla Greek yogurt. I tested this recipe with and without the vanilla yoghurt and personally I much prefer this smoothie with a little vanilla Greek style yoghurt. Not only does yogurt make the smoothie even creamier, but it also gives it a boost of protein, making it more filling.
  • Honey or maple syrup. Adds natural sweetness. You will need some added sweetener as we are not using banana for this smoothie.
  • Flax Seeds (optional): Flaxseeds are a great source of dietary fibre, satiating protein, and heart-healthy fats. I typically enjoy ground flaxseeds over whole flaxseeds for easier digestion.

How to make easy mixed berry smoothie recipe?

For the best results, you’ll want to add the ingredients to the blender in this order:

  1. Add the milk first.
  2. Then the yogurt.
  3. Top with the frozen berries, strawberries and honey. Blend over medium speed for a few seconds until evenly combined. Add more liquid or honey as needed to achieve the desired consistency and sweetness. Serve immediately.

Helpful Tips and Tricks to Make Easy Mixed Berry Smoothie Recipe:

  • Frozen berries – Freezing the berries will make the smoothie perfectly cold and give it the right thick consistency.
  • Using Ice in smoothies – ice makes the smoothies a bit too watery and dilutes the flavours. I will recommend to freeze the fruit first.
  • Milks to use – Use your favourite milk. Regular dairy milk, almond milk, oat milk, soy milk, coconut milk all work well.
  • Can I make the smoothie dairy free – Making this smoothie dairy-free is super easy! Just add frozen bananas, strawberries, blueberries and raspberries into your high speed blender. Blend until smooth and creamy. Serve and enjoy your very own homemade berry smoothie!
