This policy explains how refunds, returns, cancellations, and subscriptions work for all purchases made on Poetry of Spices.
Overview
We sell:
- Perishable goods (food products)
- Digital products (ebooks)
- Subscription-based memberships (digital access)
Because of the nature of these products, different rules apply to each, as explained below.
1. Perishable goods (food products)
Perishable goods cannot be returned8 once delivered. This is for health and safety reasons and is permitted under UK and EU consumer law.
Refunds or replacements for perishable goods
We will offer a refund or replacement if:
- the item arrives damaged
- the wrong item is delivered
- the item is unfit for consumption due to a fault or our error
If there is an issue, please contact info@poetryofspices.com within 48 hours of delivery, including:
- your order number
- a description of the issue
- clear photographs where possible
Claims made after this period may not be accepted.
2. Digital products (ebooks)
All ebook purchases are non-refundable once the product has been:
- downloaded, or
- accessed
By purchasing an ebook, you agree that you waive your right to cancel once digital delivery begins.
Faulty digital content
If an ebook is faulty, corrupted, inaccessible, or not as described, please contact us. We will:
- provide a replacement file, or
- issue a refund if the issue cannot be resolved
3. Memberships & subscriptions
Membership access
Memberships provide access to exclusive digital content.
Access begins immediately after successful payment (or at the start of a free trial, if applicable).
Memberships are for personal, non-commercial use only and must not be shared.
Membership plans
We currently offer the following subscription plans:
- Monthly
- Quarterly
- Six-monthly
- Annual
Each plan differs only in billing period and payment frequency, unless stated otherwise at the time of purchase.
Free trials and promotions
From time to time, we may offer free trials or promotional access.
Free trials:
- are optional and time-limited
- are only available during specific promotions
- are not guaranteed to be offered at all times
If a free trial is offered:
- you may cancel at any time before the trial ends to avoid being charged
- if you do not cancel before the trial ends, your membership will automatically convert to a paid subscription
Cancellations
You may cancel your membership at any time via your account settings or by contacting info@poetryofspices.com.
When you cancel:
- your membership remains active until the end of the current billing period
- no further payments will be taken
- no partial refunds are issued for unused time
Refunds for memberships
Because membership access begins immediately and provides access to digital content:
- membership fees are non-refundable once access has begun, unless required by law
Failed payments
If a payment fails:
- we may attempt to reprocess the payment
- access to membership content may be suspended until payment is successfully completed
4. Sale or discounted items
Sale or discounted items follow the same rules as above:
- perishable goods remain non-returnable
- digital products remain non-refundable once accessed
- memberships remain non-refundable once access has begun
5. Refund processing
If a refund is approved:
- it will be issued to the original method of payment
- processing time depends on your payment provider or bank
You will be notified by email once the refund has been processed.
6. Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under UK and EU consumer law, including:
- the Consumer Rights Act 2015
- the Consumer Contracts Regulations
These laws protect you if goods or digital content are faulty, misdescribed, or not fit for purpose.
